A subscription lifecycle, not a spreadsheet
Trials, upgrades with proration, pause, resume and cancellation — and customers can manage most of it themselves from a self-serve portal, without opening a ticket.

Capabilities
What's built today
A clear, honest subscription lifecycle — not every billing feature under the sun, but the ones that matter.
Free trials
Set a trial period on any subscription price. Customers see "nothing due today" at checkout and are billed once the trial ends.
Upgrade & downgrade with proration
Customers switch plans from the portal: upgrades charge the prorated difference immediately, downgrades apply at the next renewal — with a one-click undo before then.
Pause & resume
A subscription can be paused and resumed by the merchant, with the status change reflected immediately on the customer's billing history.
Cancellation
Cancel a subscription at any time — the cancellation date is recorded and the subscription moves to a terminal canceled state.
Customer self-serve portal
Customers view their subscriptions, change plans, cancel and manage saved cards themselves — without emailing you.
Subscription webhooks
subscription.created, subscription.renewed and status changes — signed and delivered so you can provision or revoke access automatically.
Plan changes
Upgrades bill fairly. Downgrades wait.
From the customer portal, upgrading credits the unused time on the old plan and charges the difference to the card on file immediately. Downgrading never refunds mid-cycle — it schedules the switch for the next renewal, with a badge showing what's coming and a one-click way to cancel the change.
- check_circle Upgrade: prorated credit for unused time, difference charged now
- check_circle Downgrade: takes effect at the next renewal, not mid-cycle
- check_circle Scheduled downgrades can be reversed with one click before renewal
- check_circle Plan changes during a trial are free and instant

Subscriptions, answered
Can a customer upgrade or downgrade mid-cycle? add
Yes. Upgrades are prorated and charged immediately from the customer portal. Downgrades are scheduled for the next renewal instead of refunding mid-cycle, and can be reversed before then.
What happens when a subscription is paused? add
It stops appearing as active on your dashboard and stats, and no renewal charge happens while paused. Resuming brings it back to active immediately — nothing is deleted.
Can customers manage their own subscriptions? add
Yes — the customer portal lets them view subscriptions and billing history, change plans, cancel, and manage saved cards, without contacting you.
Do subscriptions actually renew, or do I have to re-charge manually? add
They renew automatically — that's the billing engine's job. See the Billing product for how renewal charging and dunning work.
